THIS LISTING IS FOR A PDF DOWNLOADABLE FILE – NOTHING WILL BE MAILED TO YOU. YOU NEED TO PRINT AND SUPPLY POM POMS.
This learning activity has two ways to play and is a great way to practice patterning while sharpening their visual discrimination skills.
Kids need to match the pattern on the cards with colored pom poms. There are 3 ways to play:
1. Beginners can build directly on the colored pattern cards as a color matching activity.
2. Draw a pattern card and recreate the pattern on the blank caterpillar.
3. Identify the pattern and build the pattern off the cards to repeat the pattern.
The bag comes with 20 pattern cards. You also get one blank caterpillar to build on!
What they are learning WHILE having fun:
Patterning and problem solving – Focusing on what comes next after identifying the sequence.
Color recognition and visual discrimination – Kids need to recognize the differences in the colors to replicate the patterns.
Sequencing and directionality – Kids need to focus on placing the objects in the correct order from left to right, these are pre-reading skills!
Busy bags are little self-contained educational activities that are easy to pack or pull out in an emergency. You can pop them in your diaper bag and pull them out when going out to eat, when there is a delay, or when you need a few uninterrupted minutes. Just pull out the activity and let your kids have fun.
These bags contain small parts that may not be appropriate for children under the age of 3. Adult supervision is required.
